Westbury-on-Trym Primary Care Centre has implemented the following measures in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and guidance issued by NHS England and Public Health England: We are operating a phone first model. Unfortunately, you will not be able to walk directly into the surgery so that we keep our patients safe. We will still be completing urgent and/or important planned care but this will be organised at certain times of day to manage footfall to the practice and only if during a telephone consultation a clinician decides that you need to be seen. If you are brought into the surgery then we will ensure that both you and the clinician are kept safe.
NHS 111 for coronavirus
You may find the dedicated NHS 111 coronavirus site a useful source of information. All patients contacting us with cough, fever, or cold-like symptoms, will be triaged and may be directed to use the 111 symptom tracker (online) service. You should only seek advice if you are unable to manage your symptoms at home. It is also important to self-isolate if you are unwell. The latest public health guidance can be found here.
Covid-19 research in the practice
If you have COVID-19 symptoms you may be eligible to join an important clinical trial aiming to find treatments that reduce hospital admissions and improve symptoms for people with COVID-19. Self-care and prescriptions
Please help us where you can by self-caring for all minor injuries and illnesses and visiting www.nhs.uk for information. This site also gives you access to an online service. All routine appointments at the surgery will be delivered by telephone at the current time. Prescription services are not affected but we aim to process 100% electronically, so we will ask you to nominate a pharmacy if you haven't already done this. Early prescriptions and additional medications put pressure on our pharmacy colleagues, so please wait until your next batch is due before requesting.
